Taking a Break

Description:

This painting was inspired by a friend and inspiration about how life has changed and we don't have any luxury of getting rest as in the past. It is about the past. She’s driving an old vintage car down a dirt road, taking a break from everyday life maybe escaping from difficulties in a relationship, work or just the hustle and bustle of life. She stops, kicks off her shoes, and sits with wildflowers in the sun while the car waits behind her. Painted in oil, acrylic and clay on hardboard, the textured flowers and warm, faded light hold the feeling of a memory. It’s about that simple kind of freedom — dust on your feet, quiet in the air, and time to just be.
